SECURITY AND SURVEILLANCE

In a surveillance application, wireless is generally used where it is impractical to run cables. For times when a camera (visible or thermal) is placed away from the monitoring station, which can be located at a remote location, wireless can provide a cost effective solution. K&A Wireless extensively supplies analog, digital and IP-based video transmission systems for this segment of the market.

In the security segment, K&A has developed the concept of Direct Mobile Videocasting. Complimentary to the standard fixed camera solutions, Direct Mobile Videocasting is for the response teams, while the fixed cameras are for the surveillance teams. For the surveillance teams, K&A provides a pure analog system. This system is comprised of a video transmitter ( EV-TX-2000 Series ) and a return data link (DTRAN-900). The data link provides the ability to control a camera that is placed on a pole by sending pan-tilt-zoom commands across the wireless link. The video link operates in a point-to-point mode and the data is capable of operating point-to-multi-point. This is a standard solution provided by many companies. Where K&A is unique is the ability to provide the response team with images from fixed cameras, mobile cameras or both. This makes the response team much more productive and effective, without burdening them with excessive instructions or data - K&A provides information rich video.

K&A has a second thrust to upgrade existing analog, legacy system to Internet protocol for additional signal processing and intranet viewing. Using a wavelet-based compression technology, the VTRIX platform is capable of providing an upgrade path to existing analog camera systems. The IP data can then be stored digitally at a central command, or servers.

As part of the Direct Mobile Videocasting solution, K&A has developed the ability to provide IP-based mobile video using EYE-View. The third thrust is to provide an IP-based mobile unit. Operating on a local network, an 802.11 WiFi connection or a cellular link, the EYE-View is capable of providing a video feed from almost anywhere to almost anywhere, thus being able to extend your expertise to almost anywhere.
